OMG here I am again!

Look at me go… 2 days in a row.

And look at the rhyme…. I should be a rapper in no time.

Okay, I’m done.

I have done nothing but cooked lately, and I love it!

So far today I’ve made:

  • French Toast
  • French Fries
  • Spaghetti Squash
  • Apple Sauce
  • Pumpkin Purée
  • Pumpkin Bread
  • Cinnamon Pumpkin Seeds

I really wish I had a reason for all this, but I don’t.

Actually, here’s my reason: I wanted to.

And you know what makes me even happier? I used the recipes as guidelines and I mainly went with the flow.

Now if you’re cooking for someone important, i.e. Beyoncé, please follow a recipe. Unless you’re Julia Child or something, then do your own thing. But if you’re just cooking at home for yourself or people you really know, go ahead and go with the flow. If the people truly love you they won’t mind… that much.

I really have been enjoying this new found love of cooking.

All I did for the pumpkin purée was get a small baby pumpkin (those ones that are like 5×5)  cut it in half, gut it, cut it into fifths, place in a baking sheet, put in oven at 350º for 40 minutes, then I blended it with water (add a little water at a time, and I can’t give an amount because once again I didn’t measure)

Here’s the thing

I am the worlds worst blogger.

I have had nothing to blog about, so I haven’t.

I still don’t have anything to blog about, but here I am… attempting.

Nothing much has happened lately, and nothing exciting will probably happen tomorrow either.

This seems like a very negative blog post so we’ll cheer it up.

I’ve made a discovery… here it is… Trader Joe’s is the best place ever. Because I’ve recently discovered Trader Joes, I’ve rediscovered that cooking is fun and cheaper.

I wanted to share twoHave you  new recipes that I’ve enjoyed lately.

  1. Sliced Almonds
  2. coconut milk
  3. rasperries
  4. sliced banana

I’d give portion sizes but I don’t uses portion sizes… I’d say about a cup of almonds. 3/4 cup. Go crazy with the raspberries and bananas… I do.

“Stir Fry”

  1. Trader Joe’s Stir Fry Mix.
  2. 1 Cup riced cauliflower

I like to cook them separately. I sauté the stir fry mix in olive oil, and I cook the cauliflower in vegetable broth.

I’m horrible at writing recipes, oh well.

Are you guys watching the debate? That’s what is on right now.

I hope you’re educating yourself… as best as you can with these two.

Pray for our country, it needs it.

Have a lovely night!

Look what the cat dragged in

I’m legally a cosmetologist, I’ve moved, and I’ve started my new job.

I’ve been busy, but you guys know me by now, and know that when it comes to my blog posts I’m semi flakey. It’s just a fact that we all are going to have to accept. Even me, I don’t like that this is the case, but it’s how it is and apparently I’m not dedicated enough to change it. So, whatever.

I hope you all are well.

I love my new job, I love that I’m legally licensed, and I love where I live.

My 21st birthday is next month.

More importantly:

DID ANYONE WATCH GAME 5 LAST NIGHT?!?!?! Since the Cavs are my second favorite team I was super excited.

I never have a point to these posts. But I also never really have anything important to talk about. I wish I did, however; I do not.

Confessions of a Cosmetologist

I have a problem. I know I do. I can openly admit it.

Normally I’d apologize for it but I will not. I chose to be a cosmetologist and therefore I am forever justified when it comes to buying hair, makeup, skincare, and nail products.

I mean I wouldn’t want to have you go out and buy a product without knowing if it was worth the buy or not. Its a service to you in all actuality.

I went to the Chicago hair show this weekend. I am forever obsessed and I can’t wait to go back again next year.

I also attended the Stylist Choice Awards where I got a whole bag of FULL SIZE free products, yeah, you read me right, FULL SIZE:

I’m Still here… again

I feel like I come on here a lot just to let you know that I’m still here.

I just don’t want you to forget about me. I’m needy like that. Sorry.

I hope you’re life is going well.

Mine is so busy.

I graduate in less than 8 weeks! How exciting is that?!

I promise to blog soon, I promise with my whole heart.

Just not tonight.

I love you though, please don’t think it’s you, because it’s not, it’s me.

I am alive, and I am very well, and my heart is content, I hope you’re doing well as well.

Love you.

I found some quotes on Pinterest that I’d like to share with you. I’m sure these quotes are meant for lovers and not meant to be from a blogger to her fellow bloggers but we’re going to use our imagination.

8b4936342ef0e4d17c5f388f86676710.jpg 30c8a91637e6f6e29c317befe37d464d.jpg1d3dca6a7d8d470a3716ac43a8f87f0a.jpg

I’m Alive

Hello, it’s me. I was wondering if after all these years -(It feels like) -you’d like to meet?

I thought the Adele song was a fitting way to start this blog, considering I haven’t been on here since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas, and a lovely New Year.

Mine was fine, but thats not what I wanted to talk about.

So many things are happening!

  1. I’m 100% going to change my blog name from “DIVA ON A DIME” to…. something I’m not sure of yet. I’ve just decided that although I am still a diva and still on a dime, the name is too high maintenance for the time I can give towards this blog. Does that make sense to you? It does to me, so anyways, it’s happening.
  2. I have less than 550 hours left until I graduate cosmetology school!
  3. I’m most likely moving out of Michigan! Why the heck not? I’m 2o. Hopefully there is still a whole lot of livin’ to do.
  4. I’ve lost 25lbs.
  5. I am reading Khloe Kardashians book “Strong Looks Better Naked” and I must say it is a really good book, its all about exercising and she gives really good healthy recipes as well.
  6. I got a 97% on my mock State Boards test, which may or may not mean anything but it makes me happy.
  7. I can’t stop watching “Making a Murder” on Netflix.
  8. I got rid of cable and now I actually get things done in life.
  9. Someone at school was talking about some sort of dance and I had no clue what they were talking about and it was the first time I felt remotely “old”. Laugh all you want, I know I’m only 20.
  10. I’ve eaten 5 carts of raspberries in two weeks. It’s like someone laced these ones with nicotine or something, they’re so addicting.

Okay, I just wanted to say hi, and that I still love you, and I haven’t forgotten about you. I hope you still love me too.

Talk to you…. someday. I’d say soon, but we all know better than that, and I shouldn’t lie to you. That’d be rude.

Love you!

See! I’m alive, cold, but alive.

Hey guys!

So I was just sitting her doing nothing when all of the sudden I had an epiphany!

I go to an Aveda cosmetology schools.

Meaning all the products that we use is Aveda.

If you haven’t heard of Aveda, let me tell you about it!

Aveda is an all natural, organic, hair, skin, and makeup line. Or as we are supposed to say “Aveda is the art and science of pure flower and plant essence.”

To be honest, I was a skeptic at first. I still am when it comes to the makeup, except for the lip glosses, if you’re looking for a pigmented gloss, Aveda has some very nice ones.

I wanted to share some of my favorite products with you though.

*I’d like to apologize that I don’t have any photos of them I kept trying to upload and my computer wouldn’t let me. But I recommend opening a new tab and going to and searching as you read.

My favorite shampoo that we have is the Rosemary Mint line. When I die, I think Heaven will smell like this shampoo.

Now the conditioner I use is called Madder Root. Let me tell you about this conditioner, its super cool. Well actually there are a few kinds of these conditioners, and I’m going to inform you of all of them!

Madder root is for red hair – the conditioner basically works as a temporary color, it enhances the red pigment.

Blue Malva is for Grey and Blonde hair – It creates silvery brightness to grey hair, and deducts brassy tones in blondes.

Black Malva is for brunette and black hair – diminishes red hues.

Camomile is for people with lighter golden tones in their hair – it enhances the golden tones in the hair.

Clove Color is for medium brown shades of hair – enhances warm tones.

Now I am only mentioning the conditioners because the conditioners are the ones that contain the pigmentation, the shampoo has some but its not as noticeable as if you were to use the conditioner. Of course they do work beautifully together, I just really love the rosemary mint shampoo.

My favorite styling line is Pure Abundance or the Brilliant line. We have lines for all types of hair, and I love them, they only one I haven’t worked too much with is the Be Curly line.

My favorite Pure Abundance products are:

  1. Pure Abundance Style Prep – it is a heat protectant (which you should be using because heat is so damaging for your hair) but it also adds volume, and it isn’t heavy on the hair. I love this product, it’s just a good product, I can’t even explain it, it’s just the bomb.
  2. I also love the Pure Abundance Hair Potion – It’s so cool! But it’s tricky. It is a powder that you just kind of put on the roots of your hair. It is a powder and that is how it is supposed to be. If you shake the bottle before use it becomes a liquid and when that happens its basically no good. I love this product though. it really does add lift to the hair. It works especially well on people with shorter hair.

My Favorite Brilliant products are:

  1. Brilliant Anti-Humectant Pomade – The product does exactly what the name of it says it does. It repels humidity. This product is great for the summer time. Have you ever curled your hair in the summer, step outside, and watch your hair just fall? I swear, if you use this product, you won’t ever have that problem again.
  2. Brilliant Humectant Pomade – This does the exact opposite. I’d start using this product in the winter months. especially if you live in a place that becomes Antarctica in the winter, like Michigan. This product does work very well on textured hair, my friend says she has been using it for a while now, even during the summer because she wants the moisture in her hair, because her hair is more coarse and dry.
  3. Brilliant Spray-on Shine – it adds shine. There really isn’t much else to say. Except I would only use 1-2 sprays for the whole head, because a little goes a long way.

Now, last but definietly not least, Aveda Blue Oil. This is probably the most miraculous product I’ve ever used. It is just an oil but it works miracles. Have a headache? Rub it on the area that is sore and watch the ache decrease magnificently. Seriously I have been getting a lot of migraines lately, and this oil has saved me numerous times. It dissolves tension beautifully.

  • multiple people have asked me if there is any form of Hemp or Cannabis in this product and the answer is no. Aveda is natural but not that natural.

If by some miracle you are still reading this long page, God bless you, and thank you.

Have a lovely night, Kim is on Periscope now so I’m going to go listen to her change my life.

LoVe YoU!

Nice to meet you, Caitlyn Jenner

I really like this blog post and wanted to share with you guys.

It’s about Caitlyn Jenner. So if you hate the family, don’t read, don’t waste your time, or comment rude things just to start an argument.

Many people are saying things like “She isn’t brave to do that, men fighting overseas are brave.” and to that I say, there are many levels of bravery and yes fighting overseas is very brave and I am thankful everyday there are men and women out there who have the heart to do such an awesome thing.

But in todays day in age being yourself and accepting who you are is quite a brave thing to do, considering how the world keeps telling us to be anything but who we are.

Here’s some things I think are brave:
swimming with sharks
walking down the streets of Chicago past 4:30pm
going to the store in pajamas. (Okay this one is just stupid)
going to war
coming out
quitting your job, and telling the prick of a boss where to stick it
putting yourself in danger to save someone else

So whether you love him because he won the decathlon, hate her because she was a him, or just flat out don’t care I wanted to share this blog post, because its pretty much exactly what I was thinking, I just didn’t know how to say it.

Also you should follow this girl, she does one heck of a blog post and I hope I can get a good as her eventually.

When Vanity Fair released their exclusive cover photos of Caitlyn (formerly Bruce) Jenner today, my mind was blown. The first words out of my mouth were simply, “she is beautiful!” I was in awe. Part of me of course had to give myself a moment to take it all in, but in a good way. It makes me happy to see other people happy, and if this is the life that Bruce has been waiting his whole life to live than everyone should respect and embrace Caitlyn. It takes a lot of courage, honesty, and grace to make such a public and exposed transition like this, especially being in the direct eye of the media. None of us know what it feels like to wakeup every single day wishing you were someone else, and it makes me happy that Caitlyn can now finally wakeup feeling at home in her own…

I’m sad today.

today was one of my bad days.

I lowercased all of that because thats my mood right now, lowercase, sad, gloomy, uninspired.

I think I’ve mentioned before that I have depression. If I haven’t mentioned it then I will now. I have depression.

I have good days and bad days. I’m on medication and I do have more good days then bad days now, but today is a bad day.

My ratio of bad days are like 1:30 days a month. So only really one bad day every once in a while.

But unfortunately today is that day.

And what sucks the most is I knew it was going to happen, I sensed it last night before I went to bed. I felt the black dog coming closer to me. (I like to describe depression as a scary black dangerous dog.)

I tried everything too.

I went to church.

I got coffee.

I did my hair.

I looked cute.

I played with makeup.

So here I am, blogging. And it’s kind of helping. I feel like I’m actually talking to a friend. You guys are my friends by the way. All 51 of you are the bomb. Thanks for being my friend, all by choice.

But I did make a video today and I wanted to share it with you!

Here is the link!

I don’t have a professional camera, and whatnot so don’t judge the quality.

Actually, don’t judge in general. It’s rude and nothing but heartbreaking for the person who is being judged.

I took this from tumblr:

Do you think God ever gets sad? Like, “What do you mean, you don’t love yourself? I worked so hard on you….”

I think He does. I know He worked on me and I am His, but I think He also knows that I can’t help this feeling right now.

I’m learning to love myself. Just not today.
